40 Days of Prayer – Prayer Focus: Rebuilding Your Confidence

The Journey Begins

We are VALUABLE to God.  However, be on guard, because the very qualities that make us valuable also make us very vulnerable.

Hebrews 10:35

“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.”

Do you ever just feel vulnerable?  Do you ever feel like you are constantly weathering spiritual storms?

Vulnerability is an interesting thing… because vulnerability signifies VALUE.  If something is very valuable it is also by nature very vulnerable.

We are VALUABLE to God.  However, be on guard, because the very qualities that make us valuable also make us very vulnerable.

Thieves do not break into empty houses.  If an enemy steals your wallet, he is not after your wallet.  He is after what is INSIDE your wallet.  God has put something authentic and special on the inside of you.

The year 2019 will be a year of REFINEMENT.  Refinement is a good thing.  It means that God is preparing to take us HIGHER!   We are about to walk in a greater level of GRACE, BEAUTY, and ANOINTING.  God is going to smooth off those rough edges.  Jagged edges cut.  Jagged edges wound.

Have you ever encountered someone with jagged edges?  The Bible says that we are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13).  However, too much salt – is salty.  A salty person is hard to digest.  God wants to refine us so that the LIVING WATER can flow smoothly through us – to the hurting among us.

God will refine us until our words are DRIPPING WITH HONEY.  God will refine us until we radiate the FATHER HEART OF GOD.   God will refine us and we will drip with the oil of His ANOINTING

In our walk with God, the enemy will take every opportunity to destroy our confidence.  So, tune-out the enemy’s accusations and lies.  Let’s stand on what God’s Word says about us.

Let’s just face it, we have an enemy that opposes every good thing that God desires to accomplish in us – in our families – in our careers – in our ministries – you name it!

That child that is hard to raise…  That co-worker who gets on your nerves.  The rejection that causes you pain.  That situation that makes you cry out to God… Reassess the value of that situation.  The enemy isn’t going to waste time on something that has no value.

You show me a parent who can celebrate the success of their children and I will show you a parent who has travailed in prayer…

You show me a person who is used by God and I will show you a person who has been misunderstood, betrayed, wounded, and rejected.

The area of our greatest struggle is often the place of our greatest value.  The value of the OIL that is inside of you is very costly.  Protect your oil.  Protect your peace.

I can talk this – because I live this.  At times it seems like everything comes with a fight.  Lord knows anything you do for God comes with a fight…  But the alternative is do nothing… and go nowhere.

We must recognize that we are valuable.  The enemy wants you to believe that you have no worth.  The enemy wants to frustrate God’s children to the point that we walk away from the very things that were meant to bless us.

So, finish the job.  Stick it out.  Get thru it – even if you have to get thru it alone.  Even if you have to get thru it in tears.  Even if no one understands you – but you.  Ask  God for a bit more grace…  And get thru it.  Dig your heels in deep.  PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT!

In Yeshua (Jesus), there is strength for the journey!

Father, we thank You that You have promised to finish the good work You have started.  Father we humbly submit ourselves to Your shaping so what we can be used for Your greater purposes.  During this season of quietness and rest, we ask that You would destroy every assignment of the enemy that would speak against our value, worth, and peace.

Father, please give us a revelation of Your heart towards us this day and silence the lies of the accuser.   Father, we thank you that You love us with an everlasting love.    In Yeshua’s name – AMEN
