Between The Porch & The Altar

JOEL 2:17:

“Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say , Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?”

Greetings Beloveds,

Believers are being shaken by one crisis after another. Our nation is in trouble. The people are in trouble. Our land needs healing. The shedding of innocent blood through abortions are daily occurrences. Unholy legislations have redefined God’s plan for families. Meanwhile, our children are being lost to a world of defiance, drugs, and decadence.

Who Will Weep For The People?

The prophet Joel declares, “let the priests weep.” In modern times, priests are ministers of the Lord. Priests are defined as persons called to act as a mediator or intercessor between God and man in prayer and cultivates deep devotion towards God in the hearts of the people through pastoral care and guidance.

Let The Priests Weep.

To weep is to shed tears, to express grief or anguish. To weep speaks of a level of intensity. One may weep out of dispair, sadness, and sorrow.

Between The Porch & The Altar

According to a description written by LeVite Camp, “The porch and altar references the layout of the ancient Temple. The porch was at the front of the sanctuary. Beyond the porch was the entrance into the Holy Place. The porch opened outward into the Inner Court which contained the large altar. The place between porch and altar was the place where the priests made intercession on behalf of the people of God who remained in the outer court, just beyond the walls.”

Today we need priests and shepherds to lead the way to prayer. As priests, we must show the people by example how to rend our hearts and cry out to God in humility, brokeness and repentance. When the priests weep and cry out for mercy then the people will weep and cry out for mercy. When the shepherds fall on their faces before the king and seek His face in fasting and praying then the people will follow.

Why Should The Priests Weep?

We should weep for the disobedience of God’s people. We should cry out for God’s mercy, strength, and grace that the church would regain her position of authority. We should cry out so that God’s wrath would be turned and that God would grant a blessing instead of destruction.

What Is The Result of the Priests Weeping?

Intercession and travail brings healing and forgiveness, the land is healed, what has been lost, or stolen is restored. When intercession goes up people turn from their sin and turn to a loving and forgiving God.

Let’s Pray:

Father, we speak the answer and not the problem today as we come to You, heavenly Father and pray for our ministers, pastors, leaders and shepherds. We lift up each and every one and we decree according to Your word that You give us pastors after Your own heart. We pray for the spirit of conviction and repentance to fall upon every pastor. We call them back to the altar and ask that You release a weeping spirit upon them, a burden for the unsaved, the hurting, the broken-hearted, the sick and the lost everywhere.

Father, we decree and declare that they shall cry loud and spare not. We decree and declare that they shall proclaim a solemn fast for Your people and lead the way back to the old landmark. We decree and declare that they shall not be ashamed or afraid of the people’s faces, what they will say or think but they shall speak boldly the truth. We decree and declare that their lips are touched with the live coals from heaven as they cry unto You, Lord send me. We decree and declare that wisdom, knowledge, skill and understanding is theirs, the five fold ministry operates in their lives, they are clothed in sanctification and perfumed with holiness, You anoint their heads with the fresh liquid oil of Your anointing and it flows down their robes and out to Your people. We ask You to send the warring angels to assist with the warfare that is certain to come as our leaders make a re commitment to You.

Father, we ask that You send Your ministering angels to minister to their every need. We cover them, their ministries, homes, families, finances, and every aspect of their lives with Your blood. Now, father we bow down before You and we thank You for refreshing, reviving and restoration of the priest, the minsters of the Lord. We worship You and give You glory because You are almighty, and all powerful. In Yeshua’s name. Amen

  1. I believe what you wrote was very logical. However, what about this?
suppose you were to write a killer headline? I ain’t saying your information isn’t good., however suppose you
added a title that makes people want more? I mean Between The Porch & The Altar – TheGodBlog.Org is a
little plain. You might look at Yahoo’s front page and watch how they create news
titles to grab people to open the links. You might try adding a video or a related pic or two to grab readers excited about everything’ve got to say.
In my opinion, it would bring your posts a little livelier. http://asikqq.space
