40-Day Prophetic Bootcamp
Day 39: Facing Your Giants
____________________________________________________
In Numbers Chapter 13, God commanded the children of Israel to spy out the Land of Canaan that had been promised to them. However, the land was occupied by giants, so the twelve spies came back with a negative report.
Often God will give us assignments that are much bigger than we are.
When Israel went into the land of Canaan, they saw abundance and the greatness of the people, the children of Israel measured their promise according to their inadequacies. The children of Israel ran from their promise in fear instead of possessing their inheritance in faith.
God never asked Israel if they were strong enough to possess the land of Canaan. We often fall into the same trap when we compare our potential against our promise.
“The Report We Believe Will Often Determine the Future We Will Experience.”
How many times, have we talked ourselves out of the GREAT THINGS God had for us because, we measured our promise according to our abilities and inadequacies. Since Israel believed a negative report that generation did not inherit what God had promised.
Exodus 13:27-33
“This is what they reported to Moses: “We went to the land where you sent us. It really is a land flowing with milk and honey. Here’s some of its fruit. But the people who live there are strong, and the cities have walls and are very large. We even saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites live in the Negev. The Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the mountain region. And the Canaanites live along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and all along the Jordan River.”
“Go After the Big Grapes!”
Whose report will you believe? I will believe the report of the Lord! God is looking for believers that trust Him enough to go after the BIG GRAPES!
To magnify God in our worship, is to bring God close to us, so that we can see how AWESOME – how GREAT – how BIG – God really is. When we magnify God in our situations we see how MAGNANIMOUS God is compared to our circumstances!
In life, our perspective of God will often determine how we encounter and experience life. If we see God as ALL POWERFUL we will conquer and inherit! If we see God as absent and withholding love, we will retreat from the challenges and opportunities that move us closer to our destiny!
Likewise, how we see ourselves often determines what we experience. If we see ourselves as grasshoppers, we will live like grasshoppers. If we see ourselves weak – we will be weak. If we see ourselves with the BIG GRAPES we will go after the BIG GRAPES.
Beloveds, like the Nike commercial says, JUST DO IT! Do what God has called you to do. Believe me, God will send someone to encourage you in your assignment. As we read in our scripture text, you don’t need the multitudes, all you need is a Caleb and a Joshua.
Caleb and Joshua, returned with a good report. Ten spies returned talking about problems. Caleb and Joshua returned talking about BIG GRAPES. Ten spies returned talking about problems. Caleb and Joshua returned talking about promises.
We all see life from different perspectives. Whose report will you believe? Will you believe the lies of the enemy that will constantly tell you that you are not qualified – you are not good enough – you are the wrong gender – wrong color – too old – too young?
Beloveds, when we listen to the lies of the enemy…. when we choose to value peoples opinions rather than to obey God, we will spend our life wandering in the wilderness like grasshoppers when God wants us to be in the Promise Land enjoying the BIG GRAPES.
Beloveds, I want the BIG GRAPES. I want you to have the BIG GRAPES too.
Ephesians 1:3:
“Praise be to God the Father of Yeshua! Through Messiah, God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing that heaven has to offer.”
God has equipped us with every spiritual blessing that we need to live a victorious life in Messiah Yeshua. Our perspective of God must be set in right focus so that we can experience the awesome power of God in our lives!
In closing, I pray that this devotional has inspired you to have the kind of faith that says these giants are big – but my God is BIGGER!
“The same giants that Israel ended up running from, were the same giants that God had already delivered into their hands.”
Beloveds, whatever ministry, career, or destiny that God has called you to, God has already gone before you and made the crooked places straight.
Isaiah 45:2:
“I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron.”
God has already released the favor you need to possess the promise.
2 Chronicles 16:9a:
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”
Deuteronomy 28:7:
“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”
My prayer for you beloveds is that God would strengthen you to fulfill His purpose for your life! Your story has already been written (Psalms 139:16).

JOURNAL – Reflect upon the times in your life when you had to be brave and make a BOLD stand for the Lord. What is God saying to you about COURAGE? Wait in the presence of the Lord. Hear what God is saying to you. We are training our ear to hear from God. Speak out in prayer concerning that which Abba has shown you. You are strengthening your prophetic voice.
FAST – Let’s turn off distractions in our lives. Some may chose to fast a meal. Some may chose to fast entertainment. Father God will show you how to draw closer to him during our season of prayer.
BIBLE – God speaks to us through His word. Let’s read our Bibles daily. There are many “read the bible in a year” plans on YouVersion to chose from.
REST – During this season of prayer, let us enter into God’s rest. God commands us to rest. We must rest with intention.
COMMAND PEACE – You cannot enter into rest without having peace. During this time of prayer, command peace all around you. Command peace within yourself. Settle the issues of your heart in the presence of the Lord. Let us lay down our worries before God in honor and adoration. Be at peace. Let God arise and our enemies be scattered.
