Understanding Your Role As An Intercessor

Greetings Beloveds,

To be battle ready is the mentality of the kingdom of God.  He who desires victory… He who desires the crown… He who desires the palace must be ready for war.

A Prophetic Word: “You are being prepared for your crown.  Greater crowns attract greater persecution.  But you are anointed to wear your crown.  You are anointed with enablementabilityendurance, and power to overcome.”

The purpose of this bootcamp is to stir up the gift of intercession within you.  Every believer prays, but not all prayer arises to the level of intercesession. The difference is found deep within the heart of the intercessor.  Most gifts are demonstrated by ability, but intercession is demonstrated by relationship.

Yeshua Our Intercessor

Hebrews 7:25:

“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”

Intercession is a priestly ministry.  Yeshua, our High Priest, wants us to do the work of intercession with Him.  The work of the Holy Spirit aides us to pray the will of God.

1 Timothy 2:5:

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Yeshua the Messiah.”

As intercessors, we can approach the throne of God in confidence.  Jesus is at the right hand of the Father, interceding on our behalf, presenting His Blood against Satan’s accusations and attacks.  Yeshua is fighting on our behalf.  He is our intercessor.  His word concerning us will never return void.

God Releases His Power Through Intercession

God releases His power through intercession.  An intercessor is a priestly role.  Yeshua stands in the gap between man and God, intercessors likewise stand in the gap between man and God, advocating for something that he or she believes that God wants.  An intercessor spends time in the presence of the Holy Spirit to ascertain the will of God.  Intercessors contend in prayer for the purposes of God to be established on the earth.

As intercessors our stance against the enemy is based on a warfare theodicy. Theodicy is the vindication of God’s divine goodness and providence in the existence of evil.

Yeshua has given us the authority to overcome the power of the enemy.  Yeshua, our High Priest, sits far above every throne, dominion, principality, and power – and we are seated together with Him.  Every assignment of the enemy can be demolished through the power of intercession: All sorcery, all oppression, every attack, every setback, every plot, and every wicked scheme – all of it. (Luke 10:18-20)

Knowing Which Mantle To Wear: Prophetic Voice – Priests – Kings

Revelation 1:6:

“…and [He] has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever Amen.”

Intercessors not only have a duality in our role as kings (authority) and priests (intimacy). Intercessors often walk in a “tri-fold anointing.” It is essential that we know which mantle to wear in every situation.

Prophetic Voice – God will often impart prophetic utterances and revelations to intercessors so that we can make prophetic decrees and declare God’s word through prophetic intercession.

As an intercessor it is important for us to know when it is time to cry aloud, spare not, and release God’s word.

Isaiah 58:1:

“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sin.”

Priests – During the temple period only the priests were allowed behind the veil. The priestly ministry is an intimate ministry. The priestly anointing encourages, equips, and leads the Body of Messiah to walk in deep devotion towards God. It is interesting to note that the Levites (the priests) did not engage in battle.

Most intercessors are run towards the battle – we are fighters. However, as an intercessor we must know when it is time to lay down our bows & arrows and engage in intimacy before the Lord Most High. As an intercessor it is important for us to know when it is time to leave the battlefield and enter into the Holy place.

Deuteronomy 20:2-4:

“So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people. And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”

King – Every kingdom – including God’s kingdom, operates through laws, ordinances, and governmental authority. As children of the King, God has given His children authority to walk effectively in His kingdom. (Luke 10:19).

As an intercessor it is important for us to know when it is time to walk in authority and decree the will of God to be established on the earth.

Revelation 5:10:

“And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”

Job 22:28:

“You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.”

As intercessors we must know when it is time to walk in authority and release kingdom mandates according to the will of God. The great Charles Spurgeon wrote, “Prayer is an art by which the Holy Ghost can teach us.”

  • With authority, we direct our prayers like arrows with deliberate aim in decreeing God’s will and His word to be established on earth.
  • With authority, we direct our prayers with precision in order to execute and establish the purposes of God on the earth.
  • With authority, we ambush, demolish, destroy, immobilize, annihilate, prevent, and cancel the assignments of the kingdom of darkness against our lives, our families, and this nation.

Intercessor’s Boot Camp – Understanding Your Role As An Intercessor – Day 2

Greetings Beloveds,

In Part 1 of this teaching we discussed the various mantles of an intercessor: Prophetic Voice – Priest – King:

Prophetic Voice – As an intercessor, there will be situations that require prophetic declarations to bring down demonic strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).

Priest – As an intercessor, there will be situations that will require us to stand between the porch and the altar of God in intercession and supplication on behalf of the nation and others (Joel 2:17).

King – As an intercessor, there will be situations that will require us to walk in governmental authority to establish the will of God on the earth (Job 22:28Isaiah 55:11) .

Application #1

Now, let’s get into some practicle application of what we have reviewed. I want you to take three situations and identify how you would intercede regarding those situations using your prophetic voice – your priestly role – or your kingly authority – Then go into intercession in each role.

Application #2

Has the enemy ever stolen anything from you? Your JOY… your PEACE… your HEALTH. It’s time to TAKE IT BACK! I am named after Jomo Kenyatta. A great African WARRIOR! Being named after a WARRIOR not only inspires my prayer life, it also inspires me to be STRONG when the enemy attempts to knock me down.

Jomo Kenyatta was the revolutionary leader of the MAU-MAU’s who became the LIBERATOR and first President of Kenya!

The British had commandeered land from the Kenyan people and made the Kenyan people servants on their own land. Kenyatta and the Mau-Mau’s said ENOUGH! We are taking back our land! Kenyatta and the Mau-Mau’s fought aggressively against British OPPRESSION.

The Mau-Mau’s led a violent resistance against British subjugation and was one of the first African nations to “free themselves”from British oppression. There will be situations in life that requires us to be REVOLUTIONARY!

Matthew 11:12:

“….The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent take it by force!

Whatever the enemy has stolen from you: TAKE IT BACK! You shall RECOVER ALL!

Isaiah 61:7:

Instead of your SHAME you will receive a DOUBLE PORTION, and instead of disgrace, you will REJOICE in your INHERITANCE. And so you will INHERIT a DOUBLE PORTION in your land, and EVERLASTING JOY will be yours.”

ASSIGNMENT: Go into heavy intercession – Take back what the enemy has stolen – Take it back! Take it back! Take it back!

Application #3

ASSIGNMENT: Spend time in the presence of the Lord and ask Him to defineclarify, and affirm your gift and calling.

Live God’s Best for your life! Live intentionally! Walk in your anointing!

Beloveds, God will give you dreams to dream and He will fulfill them. God often gives us dreams a size too big so that we can GROW into them.

Beloveds, don’t downgrade God’s dreams for you just to fit your reality. UPGRADE your conviction to match your DESTINY! Beloveds, we can not live off POTENTIAL forever! At some point we have to RELEASE our POTENTIAL and WALK in our PURPOSE.

TIP: Surround yourself with individuals who believe in you! Find yourself a midwife to help you BIRTH your PROMISES! Find someone who sees the gift of God that you are!

If you don’t have a cheerleader – I am here for you! Go on with your FABULOUS self! Start your business! Walk in your ministry! Express your gift! PUSH!

Your critics will say, “Who are you to be FABULOUS, TALENTED, GIFTED, INTELLIGENT, BEAUTIFUL, and WISE. Who does he/she think he/she is?” I say, who are you not to be, you are a CHILD OF GOD. You playing small doesn’t serve the kingdom of God.

So go on with your PRETTY self… Your TALENTED self…. Your INTELLIGENT self… Give BIRTH to what God has put on the inside of you.

Beloveds, God created you for SIGNS and WONDERS. God has put a gift inside of you to serve His Kingdom. Your gift is unique, your gift is purposeful, your gift is important.

Intercessor’s Boot Camp – Facing Your Giants – Day 3

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is warrior.jpg

Greetings Beloveds,

Has God led you to confront a situation that is greater than your capacity to handle?  Often, our situations – our dreams are insurmountable without God!

In Numbers Chapter 13, God commands the children of Israel to spy out the Land of Canaan that had been promised to them.  However, the land was occupied by giants, so the twelve spies came back with a negative report.

Often God will give us assignments that are much bigger than we are.  God never asked Israel if they were strong enough to possess the land of Canaan. Likewise, we often fall into the same trap when we compare our potential against our promise.

When Israel went into the land of Canaan, they saw abundance and the greatness of the people, the children of Israel measured their promise according to their inadequacies. The children of Israel ran from their promise in fear instead of possessing their inheritance in faith.

The Report We Believe Will Often Determine the Future We Will Experience.

How many times, have we talked ourselves out of the GREAT THINGS God had for us because, we measured our promise according to our abilities and inadequacies.  Since Israel believed a negative report that generation did not inherit what God had promised.

Exodus 13:27-33:

“This is what they reported to Moses: “We went to the land where you sent us. It really is a land flowing with milk and honey. Here’s some of its fruit. But the people who live there are strong, and the cities have walls and are very large. We even saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites live in the Negev. The Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the mountain region. And the Canaanites live along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and all along the Jordan River.”

Go After the Big Grapes!

Whose report will you believe?  I will believe the report of the Lord!  God is looking for believers that trust Him enough to go after the BIG GRAPES!

To magnify God in our worship, is to bring God close to us, so that we can see how AWESOME – how GREAT – how BIG – God really is.  When we magnify God in our situations we see how MAGNANIMOUS God is compared to our circumstances!

In life, we will “experience our perspective.”  Our perspective of God will often determine how we encounter and experience life.   If we see God as ALL POWERFUL we will conquer and inherit! If we see God as absent and withholding love, we will retreat from the challenges and opportunities that move us closer to our destiny!

Likewise, how we see ourselves often determines what we experience.  If we see ourselves as grasshoppers, we will live like grasshoppers.   If we see ourselves weak – we will be weak.    If we see ourselves with the BIG GRAPES we will go after the BIGGRAPES.

….But The People

Exodus 13:28a:

“But the people who live there are strong…,”

Now, Israel had seen what God had done to the Egyptians.  Israel watched God part the Red Sea, and they walked on dry ground.  Yet, after seeing God display His awesome power on their behalf, Israel was concerned about the “people.”

Beloveds… one of the biggest breakthroughs we can ever receive is to be set free from PEOPLE. Beloveds, we will SOAR when we forsake man’s opinion, affirmation, and approval. Man is fickle. Im (Matthew 21:9), the people praised Yeshua saying Hosana! Hosana! Then, a few days later screamed crucify Him – crucify Him in (Matthew 27:22-26)!

Beloveds, like the Nike commercial says, JUST DO IT! Do what God has called you to do. Believe me, God will send someone to encourage you in your assignment. As we read in our scripture text, you don’t need the multitudes, all you need is a Caleb and a Joshua. If you don’t have a Caleb and Joshua in your life, business, or ministry, pray and ask God to send your Caleb and Joshua to help you fulfill your assignment.

However, keep in mind that you also need to be a Caleb or Joshua to someone else, and help them fullfill God’s purpose for their lives.

Caleb and Joshua, returned with a good report.  Ten spies returned talking about problems.  Caleb and Joshua returned talking about BIG GRAPES.  Ten spies returned talking about the people.  Caleb and Joshua returned talking about promises.  We all see life from different perspectives.

I have a larger than life expectation of what God can do; because I have seen God work in my life!  That’s my perspective!

Whose report will you believe?  Will you believe the lies of the enemy that will constantly tell you that you are not qualified – you are not good enough – you are the wrong gender – wrong color – too old – too young?

Beloveds, when we listen to the lies of the enemy…. when we choose to value peoples opinions rather than to obey God, we will spend our life wandering in the wilderness like grasshoppers when God wants us to be in the Promise Land enjoy the BIG GRAPES.

Beloveds, I want the BIG GRAPES.  I want you to have the BIG GRAPES too.

Ephesians 1:3:

Praise be to God the Father of Yeshua! Through Messiah, God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing that heaven has to offer.”

God has equipped us with every spiritual blessing that we need to live a victorious life in Messiah Yeshua.  Our perspective of God must be set in right focus so that we can experience the awesome power of God in our lives!

In closing, I pray that this lesson has inspired you to have the kind of faith that says these giants are big – but my God is BIGGER!   The same giants that Israel ended up running from, were the same giants that God had already delivered into their hands.

Beloveds, whatever ministry, career, or destiny that God has called you to, God has already gone before you and made the crooked places straight.

Isaiah 45:2:

“I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze
and cut the bars of iron.”

God has already released the favor you need to possess the promise.

2 Chronicles 16:9a:

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”

Dueteromony 28:7:

“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”

My prayer for you beloveds is that God would strengthen you to fulfill His purpose for your life!  Your story has already been written (Psalms 139:16).

Well, we made it beloveds! Thank you for partnering with me in prayer during these 40 Days. Thank you to my Caleb’s and Joshua’s who stood with me in prayer! May the fruit of our labor in prayer produce a harvest that will span generations to come – Amen!
